Our Story

Purrfect Paths Rescue team

Purrfect Paths Rescue began in late 2024 in response to the growing number of cats needing help in the Greater Toronto Area. While many wonderful rescues already exist, we saw that the demand for safe placement and support far outweighed the resources available—especially for cats being rehomed online or surrendered by families in crisis.

What started as a small effort has quickly grown into a network of passionate volunteers, foster homes, and supporters, all working together to give vulnerable cats a second chance.

We're currently based in the Greater Toronto Area, with fosters and vet partners across the city, and we're slowly expanding into Southern Ontario. In just a few short months, we've rescued over 50 cats and helped more than 20 find loving homes.

Our work is only beginning. Through collaboration, compassion, and community, we're building pathways to better futures for cats—and the people who love them.

Rescue Highlights

Pearl's story

Pearl's Legacy

Pearl was our first rescue and the inspiration for Purrfect Paths Rescue. While his perfect path wasn't to be with a forever home due to cancer, FIV, and diabetes, he experienced love and comfort in his final two months, shaping our mission to help overlooked cats in need.

Hoarding situation rescue

Hoarding Situation Rescue

In late December, we were alerted to an animal hoarder who had 17 cats and dogs in a small home. We were able to rescue 13 cats and transferred 8 to another rescue and placed the other 5 in a foster home. After medical care and socialization, they are now on their way to finding loving homes.

Quincy's story

Quincy's Second Chance

Quincy was bounced around and returned to the same cat cafe multiple times before being irresponsibly adopted to two teenagers who couldn't provide proper care and weren't told about the breed's debilitating health issues. Now in our rescue, he's getting the pain relief he needs and is thriving and waiting for his forever family.
